Gulf Coast.
Water Production
"
Water
production from an independent operator’s south
Texas well suddenly leaped from less than 60 to over
500 bbl/day.
CSI Technologies was called to fix the problem.
Analysis of the well’s completion and production
logs revealed that water had broken through a small
channel in the cemented annulus between the
production zone and a water zone below. Initial
injection tests indicated the channel was too small
to effectively squeeze cement, so CSI designed and
supervised execution of a HydroFIX treatment of
crosslinked polymer followed by microfine cement.
The treatment
successfully reduced water production back to its
original rate. "
